Missions
Food Pantry-Buda United Methodist Church operates a food pantry that assists over 200 families per month. Monetary and non-perishable food donations can be arranged by contacting the church office. Volunteers are welcome and always appreciated. Various volunteer opportunities include weekly distributions on Wednesdays and Saturdays, drivers to pick up food orders at the Capital Area Food Bank in Austin and the Hays County Food Bank in San Marcos each week and stock crew on Friday afternoons. Please contact Gayle Burrier to get involved.
As a partner agency with the Capital Area Food Bank and the Hays County Food Bank the pantry is able to provide extensive, non-perishable food choices to our clients. This is supplemented with fresh produce from the food banks, our own church garden and from fresh garden produce donated by others.
Current pantry hours are Wednesdays 10am-12pm and Saturdays 8am-10am. All pantry clients must live in the Buda or Kyle zip codes of 78610 or 78640 to receive assistance.

Helping Hands-Our Pastor's Discretionary account assists the needy in the Buda and Kyle area. Money left on the altar railing during Communion Sunday support this mission.

OUTREACH
Visitation Ministry Expansion-Two years ago we began a Ministry of Visitation focused primarily on visiting with those who cannot make it to worship to receive Holy Communion. This Ministry has been a blessing to many and through it we have become aware of another layer of visitation needed in our congregation. Often people in our congregation are in need of a ‘check-in’ connection with the body of Christ. It is common that surgery or illness can interrupt someone’s ability to attend worship and stay connected. We want to expand our Ministry of Visitation to include people who will keep in contact with folks who are having some prolonged difficulty. As a Minister of Visitation: by phone, you would make regular contact with someone, checking to see how things are going and asking if they have any prayer concerns or needs. These contacts would be monthly or weekly depending on the situation. If a Ministry opportunity like this would add twinkle to your eye then please contact Pastor Nancy.
Faith in Action-Sunday, November 14th, 2010 Buda UMC put their Faith in Action. After worship services they went into the community and throughout the church campus to work. Folks volunteered to make clean up the Antioch Community Cemetary, built choir risers for the Worship Center and painted and planted flower beds at the Youth House.
