Senior Pastor
Nancy arrived at Buda UMC in June of 2011. Prior to that, she served the congregations of St. Luke UMC in San Angelo, First UMC in Luling, Faith UMC in Austin, and as a student pastor at Berkeley UMC and Hyde Park UMC in Austin. Nancy graduated from St. Edward’s University in Austin and earned a Master’s of Divinity from Austin Presbyterian Theological Seminary. Nancy and her husband Casey Taylor have three grown children and five grandchildren. Nancy enjoys reading, knitting, spending time with her grandchildren, and watching movies.

Business Administrator

Terry has served as Buda UMC’s Business Administrator since August 2005. Terry and her husband Brian have been married since 1990 and have two young adult sons, Nolan and Brogan. She has an Associate of Arts degree and is a recent graduate of St. Edward’s University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Organizational Leadership. She is a member of the Professional Association of United Methodist Church Secretaries (PAUMCS) and was certified in the summer of 2008 as a Professional Church Secretary with the General Council on Finance and Administration. She enjoys driving her vintage VW Beetle “Betsy”, drinking coffee, practicing yoga, reading and loves rubber stamp art and scrapbooking.

Morris Nelms

Praise Band Leader
Morris Nelms, pianist and vocalist, grew up in Frederick, OK, discovered Jazz at Cameron University in Lawton, OK, and was instantly hooked.
Morris completed a Bachelor’s degree at the University of Oklahoma in 1978 and a Master’s degree in Composition at Texas State University in San Marcos, TX in 2000. From 1978-1980 Stephen Fulton, Rich Thompson, Lynn Seaton and Morris Nelms were the members of a jazz group in Norman, OK called Oleo.
Currently, he teaches at Texas State University. He has taught and played Jazz for 30 + years. He was the faculty pianist at the Clark Terry International Institute of Jazz Studies from 1994-97. He has taught Introduction to the Fine Arts, Aural Learning, Improvisation/Combo performance, Big Band Performance, Jazz History, Jazz Appreciation, Jazz Piano, and Jazz Guitar.

Nathan Nagir

Choir Director
Nathan is a musician regarded for his diverse musical interests, engaging artistry and passionate enthusiasm for the choral art. He is from the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago in the Caribbean.
There, he was in demand as a conductor, accompanist, vocalist and educator. Having worked with many children, youth and adult choirs, he has led many of them to success in competitions throughout the island. His choir, Harmonies Aloud, has performed several times for the Prime Minister at the Diplomatic Centre and Office of the Prime Minister of Trinidad and Tobago for state functions.

Nathan holds a Certificate in Music and a BA in Music with honors from the University of the West Indies. He moved to San Marcos in January of 2017 where he is pursuing a Master of Music in Choral Conducting at Texas State University.
